Collectors Club Slabs
I have an '04 PCGS Collectors Club Edition ASE...its graded MS69...yet, there is no cert # on the slab anywhere (I'm sure you all know that, which is why I ask). Is it possible that this coin IS or CAN be counted towards the population, or....basically, whats the deal? Can it go back and get certified MS69, cert #, etc, and IF it did, would it lose the 'pedigree', if you want to call it that? Thanx for the help!

One last call....anybody?? I'll have to make that toll free call to find out if noone here can...thanx...I think?
<< <i>Do Collectors Club slabs participate in the pop / registry or not? I believe some of them do have a number but a very different looking one? >>
No. If there is NO cert number it can't get in the Registry. If you PM me the number I'll ty to add it.
Sorry about the glare, wasnt taking a pic to show the coin itself, just thought it more important that the insert could be seen.
So, IS this a real MS69, or..........the curiosity is bugging me, and now I will have to wait till Monday to call PCGS if noone can help me.....someone help me please? LOL Thanx!
You might contact customer service to see if they would re-slab it with a serial number. Might cost you the $10 fee + shipping. You might see if they can attribute the Collectors Club on the label as well.
<< <i>BECOKA....its not that I am interested in adding it to a Registry set...I just want to know if its no more valuable as a crack out to be put in my bullion pile. Plus, if I DO decide to crack it out, would I still get my $0.50 if I sent in the cert? Its just a matter of 'If I crack it out, will it do something to the pops?'. I honestly dont see it being a 69, as there ARE just a few 'milk spots' beginning. So, just looking for options....its driving me crazy, almost...I get the feeling that, where there is no cert, its not in the database, if I cracked it out, its no big deal...BUT, on the other hand, should I send it back to PCGS, grade guarantee, and all that....its puzzling....and I need HELP..(no wise cracks either! lol). >>
If there are milk spots forming your best bet for improving the value is to send it in under spot review, get the numismatic value back from PCGS and the will return the coin for your bullion pile.
Otherwise these slabs do not have much if any value above normally slabbed ones with serial numbers. You would literally have to check with PCGS about the pops. In over two years here I have not heard anything about these being in or out of the population reports. I sold my collectors slab on e-bay because I saw little use for it. It also brought about the same amount of money as a regularly slabbed 2004.
