Mantle Home Run History Cards...I'm going to do it.

Anywho...I was just thinking about this today. Has anyone tried to piece together the Mickey Mantle Homerun History insert set? This thing has got to be huge! Just curious.

You still have the job?
Steve
Also, and I am not condoning OT threads but did it occur to him that he could just create another thread?
or use his sig line?
Steve.
That would be like deja vu all over again!!!!!!!
<< <i>or use his sig line? >>
Now there's a man that's thinking.
<< <i>Let's all change our sig lines to state that Guru got the job then we would all show that we do in fact KNOW and another thread would therefore not be required even if THIS current OT thread gets poofed. >>
LOL

<< <i>Seriously guys, here's what's happend. A couple of weeks ago I realized that I've done some bad things by posting too much OT and reposting stuff. I'm very sorry for what I have done. I got on earlier today and noticed that my OT job post was gone. I had got on to post a question about the Mantle cards and just threw in that statement. I'm sorry if I've once again aggrevated you guys. I wasn't trying to do that on purpose. I will get back to card business once again. Sorry. >>
No need to go Teknobailey on us here.
You did not aggravate me that is for sure. if you think that this thread was not OT
because you asked a card question and want this thread to
be for that, then if I was you I'd change the title.
As it stands now the card question seems secondary.

I already have #1 so that's a start.
<< <i>The wife and I were talking last night about my next card project. So, I've decided that once this job starts that I'm going to sell of all the overproduced 80's 90's stuff and use that money to start the process of collecting all the Home Run History cards. I know I said before it was a foolish and idiotic thing to do, but now that I think about it, it would be cool to have all of them together in some type of framed artwork to hang in my office at home or at the new job.

Haha, you got #1, you're half way there, lol. I hope your office is big, cuz that'd be one big piece of artwork. Let us know how you progress in this "Andre the Giant" undertaking. Maybe I'll start collecting the '08 UD Yankee Stadium inserts and we can go to the looney bin together.

You can probably find a bunch of them for a dollar or less at shows, ebay lots, the occasional dealer, NAXCOM, etc.
I'd rethink the idea of framing them. You're talking about 536 cards - figure a 6' by 6' square or similarly sized rectangle for putting them all together. Put the set in a binder instead.
