Just got my Dino-Lite Digital Microscope :)

You have probably seen the other threads on this. I did too. I ordered it on Friday and just got it. These are my first attempts. This thing is smaller than any hand held camera, has it's own lighting system and is a lot of fun.

This is just a Lincoln I pulled from my pocket.

I have to work on focusing but that won't be an issue.

For a microscope it even takes full coin pics.

Is it handheld? Or do you mount it somehow? I know when I do handheld shots with my camera it looks as if my house were built ontop of a CSX track.

Has anybody here seen the hand held Optic toy you could use with your TV that they had for kids?

Yes.
Bought one for my son for Xmas (he likes toned coins and looking at things in my microscope)
Hooked it to the 51" rear projection TV
It sucks.
Don't buy it (if you really want one, I may sell his to you if you want

)

2. is it capabable of capturing a full image of a larger coin such as a morgan?

That's pretty neat. I like that. Little high for dollar for me but that is pretty cool.

No I did not shop around there are only 3 or 4 places that sell this according to the manufacturers website.

I actually had to reduce the size of the date image, otherwise it would have been bigger than most peoples screens.

Yes it should be able to take pics of full size silver dollars. You just put it in the flexible stand at the appropriate height and then manually focus. I will try some later in the week. You can also turn off the built in lighting and use your own. It does pretty well with just room lighting too. You will have to disable the built in lighting for bright and shiny coins.

I don't recomend the TV version I hear it does not hook up to the computer. I might be wrong but worth checking.
