What would you grade it, and what do you think the negative factor is on the two carbon spots?

Need a Barber Half with ANACS photo certificate. If you have one for sale please PM me. Current Ebay auctions

Kinda hard to tell with the photo. I'm pretty sure that it was cracked out of a GSA holder at one point though.

<< <i>Definitely UNC, probably a 64, shot at 65. Carbon Spots don't bother me at all. >>
know that Im learning to grade and appreciate constructive criticism, but doesnt anyone see slight rubs above the ear and on the wing tips?? - based on that observation, how can this be a MS coin??

I'm not seeing any rub, maybe strike weakness.

thanks - didnt think of that - I guess that's is what separates the men from the boys, knowing what is wear and what is a weak strike - does this particular year exhibit weakness in these areas??

Reeding mark on check combined with the bag rub in field in front of Liberty
suggest MS64 to me. Someone says AU58, and if true it's a more rare an desireable
example than the 1000's of Unc. GSA CC's.
Yes some of these have a weeker strike on obverse.
Overall a nice coin--the tiny carbon spots don't bother me at all at this level.
"La Vostra Nonna Ha Faccia Del Fungo"
Grade wise that photo at that angle through plastic essentially wipes out any chance of guessing. All of the hairlines are gone and marks could be missing.
A pure guess would be MS64
Kidding... Unless there are hidden flaws, it should go 64. As stated above, I have mistaken several weak strikes for wear just above the ear. Correctly grading Morgans is much more tricky than grading other coins, I have found. I can see why they are so popular, and why so many people as so obsessed with them. I am starting to catch the bug myself...
That is one NICE Carson City though! I am envious. I have yet to get any CC's.
