Anyone got the receipe for getting a Silver Eagle out of an airtite?

Not how to open, but out of the bottom of the airtite...it is tight.

    Warning: amateur advice.

    Put on your cotton gloves.

Open the airtite and hold it firmly in one hand.

Make a sort of cupped hand clapping motion, hitting one palm against the other. Don't hit the coin against anything.

The goal is to 'decelerate' the coin quickly and let it come out of its own inertia.

Perform the violent movement one at a time so that you don't launch the coin across the room.

Put it in the freezer.......though it could get moisture on the surface if it "sweats".

Actually this is the RIGHT advise. I've done it hundreds of times and it's the only way to do it. Really.

Either do the above or try a wooden tooth pick.

Nah - I just put down a soft cloth on my desk or the floor, put on a pair of nitrile gloves so if I accidentally touch the coin I don't fingerprint it, and grip the airtite with both my thumbs and forefinger, coin facing out and down. Put pressure on the back of the airtite with the thumbs while pulling back with the forefingers - flexing the airtite slightly outward - put enough pressure on it and the coin will just drop out.

Try that before you start banging the coin and airtite on the desk like a neanderthal, before you start gouging the coin with a pry bar or toothpick, and before you stick it in the freezer and get it waterlogged with condensation.

I truly want to thank Those for their good advise...As I had placed a roll of 1996 Silver Eagles in Airtites to preserve them and was wondering if I had done the wrong thing since I could not get them out easily! These are beautiful coins and would grade ms69 for sure...and my goal is to keep them that way...So it is turely a Thank You from me.

So I guess you don't want to do it this way? image
