The lack of toning on the high parts on the reverse is due to poor handling, rattling around in a plastic holder. The luster may still be there, but the contrast of the silver on the dark toning makes it stick out way to much and I think that it wouldn't cross. It's too bad too. My boss did the same with a nice UNC 1818 quarter. Submitted it to PCGS and it got 58.

There is no possible way to tell from the pics. They are just too small and not clear enough to make a good assessment of grade.

It does look like a nice coin. It shouldn't matter what holder it's in.

If something like that *could* cross, it would already *have* crossed. I bet PCGS has seen it more than a few times before it ever was for sale to collectors.

I think it would cross if "at any grade" were specified

I don't like the color! As Barndog said certainly not at the same grade!

It might cross as a au grade

EDITED TO ADD: I'd buy it at that starting price just to try and get it in pcgs au plastic.

If I saw that coin raw I would grade it AU58 with possible AT.

This exactly the type of Bust half that I can't stand the sight of...... and many collectors adore. Be very careful.

A case of "acceptable rub" vs regular rub....
This one looks AU all day by the pics and

The toning is very nice, but I do not like the toning rub on a MS64 Bustie. This coin was likely unsuccessfully tried at PCGS many many times. I would not be surprised if PCGS graded it MS62.
I collect Capped Bust series by variety in PCGS AU/MS grades.
