PSA Submission Question

Last month I had my CC freebies boxed up and ready to ship to CA. when the .5 bombshell hit. Needless to say, I cracked that box open and waited til after Feb. 1. In addition to my free submissions, I included a separate submission with a 66 Mays #1 and a 67 Seaver included at the Express Level.

My question is, when declaring value, is it foolish to put down what you're expecting (hoping?) the grade will be? If I were to include these cards in my CC sub would the grader give me a fair shake and grade these higher than a 7 (> $500) if merited?

As far I know, the declared value is simply for insurance purposes/postage fees.

I tool a board members advice on my last sub and said everything was worth $1 and saved some coin.

I can tell you from experience it is not only for insurance purposes but also for "if it gets damaged" purposes - a card of mine was damaged by the graders and they offered me vouchers based on the price I put down for the value (plus a little) so if you only put down a dollar just be careful...

  • just make your best guess possible. Try high beckett vs low beckett, vs ebay.
Running an Ebay store sure takes a lot more time than a person would think!
