Anyone know anything about IGA? Edited: Link Added.

I know they were around in the 1980's and graded coins simmilar to the Anacs photo certifcate format. How were their grading standards?

Here is one of their coins with photo cert. Based on the photo, the coin looks properly graded, and I would say the Obverse is a 64 not a 63.

I'm not sure if they had slabs in later years, but the stuff from the mid 80's was just a photo certificate.

Sure, IGA is a grocery store chain (Independent Grocers Association). I didn't know that they also graded coins. Next thing you know, Wal Mart will be in the business.

Did they use a slab? Thought they just shrink-wrapped them in the produce area

Independent Grading Association was in business only from 1986 to 87. They were in Atlanta Georgia. I don't know about their grading standards.
