OT: Crazy and weird delivery...

So, about 20 mins ago my wife calls and asks why I ordered a pizza from papa johns because they were make sure the address was correct. I told her I had no idea what she was talking about. Then the doorbell rings and sure enough there's a delivery person there with 2 cokes and a pizza. I looked at the receipt and sure enough my name and card number is on there. So, I call up to Papa Johns to find out what's going on and they said I made an order 2 weeks ago for today on my online account. I said that I had no idea what they were talking about. So, I took the pizza and drinks back up there. They credited back my account. But, it was just really weird.

  • Well, here's what happend. Just got off the phone with PJ's. A couple of weeks ago we had placed an order with them via the internet at work. I used my personal account online to order and apparently had put to send today somehow. They called and said they couldn't deliver to work. So, I cancelled the order and placed another one and went and picked it up. Well, apparently the first order was never deleted and somehow they confused my home address with my work address. How this happend, I have no idea. Good news is that I took it back and they credited my account.
My wife is mad though because she asked if I had any cash earlier so when she was at work she could get a coke. I told her no, and then they call her asking where we live so they can deliver a pizza. Needless to say, she was a little pissed.

  • Thanks Ironman, if you'd like to be the host you're more than welcome to be. The toppings were pepperoni and pinnapple. I guess I would've ate except I had just ate and I wasn't really hungry. Not mention I was preparing stuff already for dinner. So, $17 seemed a waste of money.

$17 is never a waste of money for pizza, unless it has pineapple on it, so you made the right call.

    Wow, that is crazy.

    However, I'm a tad confused.

How did they mix up your home address with your work address if they had to call your wife for your home address?

And why is your wife upset with you since PJs made the mistake?

  • I'm confused too. They told me that my work address and home address are on the same account. And she's not pissed now, just at the time. Needless to say, everything worked out and I got my money back. And as far as them calling her, they have her cell phone # in case they have questions not mine because when we set up the account we used her #.
  • I think the biggest mistake here is pineapple with pepperoni. Ham, maybe, but not pepperoni.

  • LOL, I'm not really keen on pinnapple on the pizza either.

    I agree.....but I think I would take the pizza anyway. Hmmm.....pizza.

But what about all that work you already put into preparing stuff for tonight's dinner?

Heck, I'm prepping for our party tomorrow and would be livid if that happens.

    Which won't happen, guaranteed.

Stuffed jalapenos, surf and turf fajitas, queso, guac, and apple crisp anyone?

That sounds great! You have room for one more? If I start driving now I could make it by the time you start the appetizers image
  • Well, when I say preparing for dinner I mean that I was defrosting some meat and whatnot. Not a big deal, just put it in the fridge for tomorrow. I'd much rather have her pizza than anything I can whip up.

Oh, the bacon wrapped jalapenos, stuffed with chirizo sausage, cream cheese, red onion, and monterrey jack and chedar cheeses?

Take I-10 all the way to Houston and bring some extra beers.

Boy this is exciting. I guess I will add my two cents... that my wife is about to call Round Table (it's a nor cal pizza chain) for a little pizza. Not sure what she will get. I like their Maui Zaui with the red sauce. I will keep you all posted on the exciting events over here as they develop!

  • All I'm saying is that I find it really humorous that the people who constantly spew negativity out on my threads are the ones that keep coming back. It's like they can't get enough. I just find it funny and interesting. That's all. Do you seriously think that my life is this dramatic? I mean, I haven't made anything up or anything. But, I only talk about the things that are going on right now not everything. If you came and lived with me a week you'd probably be bored to tears. Honestly, my life isn't really that interesting. This was just a weird thing that happend today and I thought I would share. So, lets take a vote.

I'm going to start a new thread about this and we'll see the results. Thanks!

wolfbear, the idea of a fried egg and fresh anchovies on a pizza absolutely makes me want one immediately. If I had a pizza shop, you would see some of the craziest s**t in the world on a pizza and most of it would taste fantastic.

As a side note, there's a Chinese-owned pizza joint in Owings Mills, MD that puts General Tsao's chicken on a pizza and it's just like an explosion of delicious flavor. A pitcher of beer to wash it down and you might as well die then and there because you will never experience anything better in life.
