  There's $12.70 in Silver, at $11 or $12 I'd say buy...

  I know what I'd be buying if I was in the States right now.
  
  Newly graded MS65 Morgans by PCGS only.
  
  Not only are the prices depressed but these new ms65's being graded by PCGS are MS66's a couple of years ago.
  
  You win on both sides (price and quality) as both are due to appreciate.

  Although I understand the point of your question...the price of silver would be irrelevant to me if I wanted to buy Morgan Dollars. I'd buy the coin because of its value as a collectable - rarity, history, condition, etc - not for its silver content.
  
  That said, if you can buy low and sell high then, obviously, you should go for it.

  Yes I agree and I buy morgans for the reasons you stated. The silver content is a bonus to me. But it's always nice to know they hold their value in silver too.
  
  Earlier last year I bought 35 or so morgans when silver was $8/oz, but I can never have enough especially if the price is right.
  
  Blu62vette I love looking/show and tell with the morgans. When I was young my grandfather had a couple bags of morgans he saved from the early 1900s. Maybe 50-100. I've loved them ever since then when he showed them to me, but he sold them in the early 80s when silver shot through the roof and now I can't get enough. I know it's bad.
