"Free" 1/4ly Submissions

Since "Free" submissions have to be put on their own submission for with their own, individual return postage, is there really any savings as apposed to submitting them on a form with a bunch of others?

So if return postage is $15 by itself for the 1 item, and you are saving $18 for the submission (less if you are a dealer), then your net savings is about $3.00. Something, but really worth it?

Since "Free" submissions can only be submitted by paying members in good standing, would it not be a good jesture on PCGS's part to cover the return postage? Making the 1/4ly specials, well, special?

I wish that was true... Unfortunately, they make the rules that you got to go along. Best advice would be a walk-in submission at a coin show they're already set-up at, so you could at least save half on your postage.

Heck, considering the fact that 5 of my last 9 submissions required me to return a coin due to a blunder on PCGS part, I still had to pay the postage. I would like to see them cover the postage on their mistakes first before I worried about mailing in a freebie.

I believe the "free" quarterly submission might also be charged the $5 invoice fee, but am not certain if this is correct.

I don;t think you need to out the $5 fee on there since that fee was originally implemented to try and minimize the number of single coin submissions.

As far as a savings goes, for the current quarterly submission its huge for me since I'll be submitting a classic $10 gold which normally couls only be submitted Regular at $30 for each coin with a requirement of 5 coins before they changed the forms.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

If you use this quarter's on a Saint (or any gold coin), you save a $30 fee. If you piggyback it on other submissions in the same package, then the marginal cost to ship it TO PCGS would be small.

I submitted a $10 Indian in a NGC holder for crossover for my CC Submission. No $5 processing fee was required. I hope it crosses!
