Some new stuff - Updated 3/25/08

I'm a season ticket holder of the Manchester Monarchs, AHL afiiliate to the NHL's LA Kings. Each year, they do a sigining with all the players that's only open to season ticklet holders. Last season, I had an idea to do the mini jersey (Official AHL, made by Reebok $45.00 each) signed by the whole team and frame it. I continued this tradition this season so I have both frames now! I think it looks good!

The second thing is another idea I had to do a shadowbox with all of the 1979 Topps sports packs. It wasnt till I already purchased it that I realized the golf pack was 1981 and not 79, but heck, I had it in had, so I threw it in there. These are all original unopened. And I couldnt afford the 79 pack with the Gretzky RC, so I got the 1978-79 pack instead of the 79-80. I kinda dig it...

So here's a couple pics of the new stuff on the wall. I hope you enjoy it!!

Any comments, good or bad, welcome. Thanks.

  • Cool displays, though I am not sure if I would leave minor league sports team memoribilia on display long term. Of course if any of the players end up being pro stars it may be another story.

  • There are already five guys that signed those jersies that are in the NHL.

Who knows what they'll do long-term, but in the mean time, it's a cool item to have.

Thanks for the input though! i appreciate it!

  • Hey thanks a lot! I thought I was going to get negative responses (because of the jersy thing being AHL and the non-79 pack in the shadowbox)

    Thanks for the feedback all!

  • Some mroe new stuff!!

As I stated above, as a season ticket holder to the Manchester Monarchs, I also got a full set of autographed cards. I'm especially excited about the Jason LaBarbera auto. he was last years AHL goalie of the year. I matted the frame and stuff with fabric and used top-loaders for the cards so I could just tape them to the backing.

The second photo is a Curt Schilling autograpged photo. I met him at a Harvard Pilgrim event last year. Very eciting. Thanks for looking!

I made it. That one's a shadowbox, because of the thickness of the packs. I got most of the packs from BBCE. I think I got the golf and Soccer ones on the Bay.

Thanks man, I'm glad you like it!

    Thanks a lot Zep!!

Also, for those of you who havent seen it yet... I also made this one.

All the numbers retired in Fenway Park. I have plans to eventually make the Pudge and Yaz rookies. I'll never afford the Doerr, Robinson or Teddy RC's

  • Very nice frame! image

Is there any website that makes these custome frames, for PSA graded cards?

Hey Giovanni, Not that I'm personally aware of, no. The shadowbox can be purchased at a craft store. The other frames are just regular frames. Just make sure you get one with a plexi front insttead of a glass front. This will allow the front to bend slightly over the slabs without requiring extra depth.

    Good luck pal!

  • Oh ok, thanks man! image

Theres only one problem, i'm lazy image I would rather buy it already made, LOL.

Somebody should definetly get into this stuff, you know, selling them. I think many people would want some custome made frames.

    Giovanni
  • I've been tpying with the idea of making a few displays and selling them.

And if anyone on here wants me to make them one, I'll do it free (you send cards, you pay for frame, you pay shipping)

New Hampshire. Just sent them with delivery conf or signature conf. Or, if you REALLY want to be safe, send them UPS.

Also, there's a new addition that I just finished tonight!

Tonights addition: The 2007 World Series Red Sox team set display. I was going to get them graded, but I like the way it looks with them raw:
