<< <i>Wanted to Buy: NGC/PCGS 1888 or 1889 British Double-Florins, MS63 and up and nice toning is appreciated. thanks! >>
I had a beautifully pastel-toned 1888 double florin with lots of delicate sea greens in the toning. It graded MS64 at ANACS. Sold it to Dan (coinpictures). Still have it, Dan?
Edit: here's my list. Nothing new on it yet.

Well, unless Dan really stuck it to you on the price
Boy, if that thing could talk, huh? It's had some travels!
It is exceptional in hand, or at least it was in my opinion. I love delicate pastel toning like that which imparts color without subduing the underlying luster of a coin.

I offered a bit more for the coin than I would normally have liked but since it's an exceptional coin it is worth it imo.
I am gald that so many PCGS posters have had the privellege of seeing this coin in hand.
Dan's photography is, as always, excellent but ( dare I say it ) he missed some perhipheral toning which jumps out more when the coin is in hand. Obviously it's much easier to move the coin in the light when in hand and/or move the eyeballs to catch the light. the point is that there is more toning on the coin than it shows on the photos. It really is a lovely piece.

<< <i>Well, I'm sure his pics were a quantum leap above my scans of it. >>
I've never been a big fan of scans of coins. They loose all their luster.
The thing I like about good photos of MS coins is that their surfaces 'jump' of the photo. You can tell that the coin is a true MS coin then. Unfortunately my photography skills ( or lack of them ) let me down big time.
Anyhow is anyone interested in a cased 1980 Sovereign Proof Set ?
I have one for sale but am watching an Ebay auction to see what price they are currently fetching.
