Dallas ain't exactly in the East...and they suck.

    Dallas has always been in the NFC East.

    That's nowhere near as bad as it used to be, with the Atlanta Falcons and Braves both having been in the western divisions of their respective divisions!

    Dallas is closer to Mexico than the United States East. Dallas claiming to be an Eastern team is fraudulent therefore the Dallas Cowboys should be playing in the Mexican Football League.

    They tried to preserve some rivalries from the old divisional alignments.

    I still think 8 divisions is stupid -- a division title is meaningless now, and someday a 7-9 team is going to win one.

    Yup. The Chiefs aren't in the west, but everyone historically in their division is.

    The NFL has the best division / playoff system in pro sports. Only Dallas doesn't really align well, but it was the right decision. I'd like to see this in MLB:
