Why doesn't eBay just shut down all coin sales from China?
The counterfeiting problem is out-of-control.

You know they are working on it. Let them know your expectations vis-a-vis your deadline for action. That should help.

Why do you refer to me as a non-collector? I have an extensive medal collection, or don't those count?

They are working on it? Shutting down counterfeit coins from China?
Please cite your sources and your knowledge of their plans. I'm interested in what recent developments have taken place.

I wonder the same but understand the Ebay could care less.
If they get paid that's all they care.

What is going to happen, and is already beginning to happen, is that trademark owners are starting to sue ebay for being a conduit for counterfeit goods.

<< <i>I'm sure they're working on it, profiler. If you have registered your complaints (and you have, right?), they know and are surely working on it. Why wouldn't they? What's your conspiracy du joir now, that they don't want to address it?
Talking out your azz again, I see
Still trying to figure out the profiler thing, though... I mean, if I'm a profiler, you'd have to be a real doctor

<< <i>Because it is discriminatory and narrow minded to ban transactions from an entire country because of speculated and occasional problems from sellers belonging to that country. GLOBALIST! Did you forget it's still COMMUNIST China??
The loss of Chinese business would be far more offset by the increase in confidence from buyers in Western Europe and North America.
If Americans are serious about cutting the trade deficit with China, they should be prepared for higher prices on clothing, toys and games, and consumer electronics, among other items
Banning sales of all coins would be the appropriate move, until the problem is addressed by the importer and China as well. Same goes for auto parts, children's toys, dogfood, toothpaste, AK-47s. When our own businesses are hamstrung by over-regulation, why give a pass to a country who is so completely ideologically opposed to our country? Yeah, I'd like to see some radical changes.
Almost sounds like an ongoing, cultural thing. Come to think, the term "Chinese fakes" IS almost a time honored phrase. So, since stopping billions of people from doing this isn't possible, let us be aware, and wary, as buyers, and not expect a nanny (in this case eBay) to protect us.
Negotiating a fair trade deal to address counterfeiting would solve our end of the problem. Why allow petty and other criminals free reign over here? What would happen if the U.S. started shipping counterfeit money to China? Do you suppose there might be prison time involved? China doesn't need a free pass.
I knew it would happen.

It would be reasonable to assume that REAL Trade Dollars exist there. After all, that's why they were made, to trade in the Orient (and elsewhere). That being said. I doubt a real Trade Dollar selling from China would bring it's true worth. Could be the Cherry Pick of the decade if you snagged one!

How long you think this kind of stuff has been going on in China?

Agree with it or not, globalism is the way of the future and a necessity for success. History has demonstrated that any group of people who turn to the ideology of isolationism will stagnate, fail and ultimately become extinct over a period of time.
While China is a communist party controlled country, its economic markets are virtually unrestricted. While Western Europe and North America may have more spending power on a per capita basis, there is not a chance that an "increase of confidence" from buyers from Europe or North America can even come close to offsetting potential losses of a self-imposed embargo on China and its 1/5 of the world's people.
