With 1/1 in a couple days when does PCGS usually announce the quarterly 'freebie' submission? I saw it's seated for 4q07, curious if 1q08 is in the know yet.
We usually find out a week or two into the next quarter. No, not a bad question, just probably won't know the answer for a few weeks.
Listen. Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony. Will’sProoflikes
I've requested it get on the website under specials as soon as possible. The order must be post marked by March 31st. The normal rules apply. This is for Collectors Club members only, the coin must be on its own submission form with its own return shipping. Only one per quarter.
Again, for all the details please check the website when it has been updated.
In 1980, the price of gold hit a record high of $850 an ounce. As of this writing (27 years later), gold has reached a new peak once again. To celebrate this event, PCGS will accept any gold coin (U.S. or world) for this quarter's PCGS Collectors Club Submission Special.

I don't collect gold...
Re: Slabbed coins - There are some coins that LIVE within clear plastic and wear their labels with pride... while there are others that HIDE behind scratched plastic and are simply dragged along by a label. Then there are those coins that simply hang out, naked and free
<< <i>My page says last quarter's. What is this quarters????thx >>
Carol said it was a US or world gold coin. She also said the website update was still in progress. I suppose it will be limited to a value of $3K or something like that.
Hmmmm...... Dragon Lunar Coin (Australia) - non-graded value for 1 oz ~$1700 (last few ebay sales)...haven't seen a graded one.... 2006-W burnished 1/2 oz GAE
Nice choice, now alot of people with be able to take advantage of the special and likely get some new members joining up. Looked at the "old" special and understand must include return post cost but did not see anything about that $5.00 service charge. Is that waved on this offer

Sweet! I have a gold coin that I have been wanting to get graded for years!
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

I think the $5 fee is waived for free services like the quarterly special and annual voucher submissions. Not sure, but I seem to recall also for reholder service. Haven't used that one though.
I've got a 1912 Canadian eagle and a half eagle that I didn't want to pay World Gold prices on! I'll have to figure out which is better to submit first.
Any thoughts?
Edited: grammar crap!
Spare your best friend's life!! Adopt an adult dog at your local "kill" animal shelter. You will be changed.
Had a unopened non-FS spouse, that noone wanted on ebay, laying around, so I opened it. May get a few dollars more if a 70.........Then maybe someone/somewhere will have a home for it
<< <i>Being new to the board, could someone explain this to me. Thank you >>
Welcome to the boards.
In addition to the free submissions given at different levels of membership, once each quarter of the calender, PCGS will have a submission special for all members....silver, gold or platinum.
Also, guidelines state to mark "CC Special" on package... say I have two submission forms enclosed in the package... one for the CC Special and one for another service... do I still mark "CC Special" on there? Or should I send two packages?
I also read a few things about the value limit on the coin... where is that stated by PCGS?

<< <i>Nice coin, but not sure of that rim dent at 11:00 on the reverse. >>
Thats why I would try the freebie.
It's not as bad as it looks in the photo. Its only near the top so not sure if PCGS would consider it a rim ding.

The size of the image makes it look worse. Looks like a pass to me but is one of those cases where it all depends on who looks and their mood I bet.
