Just watching that show,makes me glad I,m not gonna be one of those sorry saps they convince you better buy now or else,what a scam and shame that show is ,at least Coin Country mixes it up with some fun!

Something like 400 channels on Directv and sometimes I just cant find anything I want to watch. In that case they are at least entertaining for a laugh and maybe a little info although few and far between on good info.
You wouldn't believe how long it took to get him to sit still for this.

Plus they are dumb, naive, stupid or not very smart. I don't know how those chumps like Chambers can sleep at night. I guess it would be different if they actually added value to what they sell, but they don't. All they add is COST.

Unfortunately, the posters here don't distinguish between the various coin shows on the shopping networks. Home Shopping Network (HSN) has a show called the Coin Collector with a guy who basically hawks the quarters in gold, platinum, etc. The famous Coin Vault with Robert Chambers is on Shop at Home (SAH). That show which is funded by Silvertone is by far the most "educational" of the coin shows and occupies most of the TV time devoted to coins. It is no longer available to me here in Connecticut but I do watch it sometimes on their internet feed at www.shopathometv.com.
I believe we ALL are subject to marketing in EVERYTHING we do and see. Look at the political campaigns in the next month. Look at the ads for everything on TV or the papers. Just because we here are "in the know" does NOT mean that everyone who watches these coin shows on TV is dumb or doesn't know what they are doing or buying. Some people like the money back guarantee that the coin shows offer. Some people like the convience of buying from their own home. It is NOT always all about the money. JMHO. Steve

I didn't say the watchers are dumb, I said the buyers are dumb which is most likely largely true as I never see anyone come here and brag about the big rip they got off of one a those tee vee shows. They could have annux private label pocket change as HSN Home Slabbing Network ms69s and 70s and their typical buyer would never know any different.

Something tells me they would have the authorities on your butt pretty quickly, though. Just imagine every call coming from the same area code and traced down to a school district after hours.
I guess it might take a bit of work to do it and remain totally anonymous, but I'm thinking here.

They wouldn't have anyone to ask to stop.
I suppose they could go to the admin eventually, but there are dozens of them as the network is so large.
I would just be a matter of writing new routines to over ride any attempt to stop it.
Eventually, it would fall apart, but it could be kept going for several weeks I'd think.
I may have a new hobby, one that I know nothing about.
I've already been doing some more thinking here. I wonder if they are somehow protected already from this sort of thing? Might need to hack their lines first.

I've been in my favorite B&M and seen the damage done too many times and I'm only there once or twice a week for a short time.
The guys there tell me they see it a half dozen times a day. If it's not Count Vault or HSN, it's the telemarketers and they are even worse.
I still remember a poor old lady with several late 19th century double Eagles, all of them fake. She'd been to every store in town and now she was finding out they weren't even gold, much less having any numismatic value. She had a stack of very official looking certificates of authenticity. I just pray that wasn't her life savings tied up in them. Had they been real, she'd have had over 200K easy. They weren't even good fakes. I had to go outside for a cigarette, not that I really wanted one, but I couldn't handle the life wrecking emotions that were as thick as fog. I told the guys who work there later that I didn't know how they could handle it. About 9 months ago, a 15 year employee quit because he just couldn't continue to bear up under it. Now I now why he was one of my favorite employees there, he had a heart.
How much for this valuable partial set of platinum coated state quarters? It's just too sad to deal with, and those are the lucky ones. I still wonder about the poor lady with the CC and S mint fake gold. It's easy to say I'd try to help her, but there are just too many like her out there.

This morning I was up at 4am because I rcvd a call from work and couldn't go back to sleep and Coin Vault was one...behind them they had a stack of monster boxes, not only green for the silver but red, yellow, etc. for the other metals and weights I guess. I have never seen those before. Then they were pointing out the differences in the design between the earlier eagles and the 2008's, in the fonts, star placement, etc. that I would now have known about...so like I mentioned I do learn a thing or two...I just wish they would charge more reasonable prices on stuff, I still wouldn't buy anything from them but would feel better about the show.

I assume you realize that the platinum that Coin Vault is selling in NGC slabs is REAL platinum as opposed to the layered stuff that appears on some of the State Quarters.

I agree. These guys may charge more than ebay deals but they are creating new coin collectors by providing a relatively safe environment to buy coins(unlike ebay).
I don't collect these, so what should the price for these be from a normal dealer?
