Do y'all think this 1933 Ruth will get a 1 or a 2 ?

I reached an agreement to buy this 1933 Babe Ruth card from a fellow board member. The deal is done, but I just wanted to get y'alls opinion on what you think this Ruth might grade from PSA.

Is it destined to be a 1 or does it have an outside chance at a 2.

Would SGC or Beckett be any kinder than PSA?

Take care,

Mike

Whatever you decide do not send it to Beckett. I say its a nice 1.

The paper loss on the front would probably make it a one. The card is nice and would sell well.

It is a good looking card, I saw that it was up for sale. I think it is a 1 by most any grader, maybe just get it slabed BGS Authentic. Great looking card.

If it weren't for the small paper loss and stain in the TL corner, you'd have a shot at a 2. But get it slabbed anyway, just to ensure it's the real deal and if you want to sell it, to give potential buyers a peace of mind.

And if anything, Beckett would be an even harder grader, but not quite as much as they used to be.

It IS being sent to PSA. Just wanted to get expectations of what to expect and what to expect from the other main graders (not GAI, PRO, latest ebay fad graders, ASA, etc.) if I decided to eventually crack the PSA case and send it to them. I'll be sure and let everyone know how it turns out. The seller is sending it to PSA for me as I have it on layaway. If it does turn out to be a 1, I don't think it is a far stretch to say that it has great eye appeal for that grade and is one of the nicest 1's I could hope to get. I'm hoping that eye appeal is considered when it is graded and that I get a generous grader. I always hear buy the card and not the holder and i believe that in cases like this, that might be a great statement, as I would rather have the eye appeal of this one if it is a 1, then some of the beat up 2's I've seen.

    Take care,

    Mike

    It popped:

    1 03185783 1933 GOUDEY 144 BABE RUTH N/A 1

Not a 2 but that's ok, I like to look on the bright side, rather than having a lower tier 2, I'll have one of the highest tier 1's. Take care and have a Merry Christmas,

Just saw this thread and saw the card when Ryan had it listed.

1 all the way was my thought then and now and I see that's what you got.

    It's a decent looking card.

1 or 2. whatever. that is an awesome card to have. and having it secure in a holder makes it that much better.
