Ebay ratings....

You seem to be a bit giddy with the "power" ebay has given you.

<< <i>Item as described: Almost always give a 5 for PSA graded cards, since they pretty much always are as described. >>

With the exception of scammers or when the case is cracked from head to toe, exactly when/how is a PSA graded card not as described? I don't even want to know your criteria for raw cards.

<< <i>Communication: If you don't leave feedback first as a seller, the best you're going to get is a 4. >>

Reverse retaliatory feedback. Interesting, but petty.

<< <i>Shipping Time: If I receive it in a week or less, you get a 5. It goes down from there. >>

I ship next day, same day if early enough, yet you rate based on when it's delivered. Ridiculous.

<< <i>Shipping and Handling Charges: If I feel you've made a buck on the shipping and handling, you're not getting a 5. >>

If you FEEL...? I use Endicia postage which does not print the actual amount on the label. Do you know the rates including delivery confirmation for each weight class, or do you just "feel" it?

You put the seller behind the 8 ball before the transaction even gets off the ground—you're on my blocked list, enjoy your stay.

Block me gently, block me slowly, take it easy don't you know, that I have never been loved like this before . . . Baby baby (everybody now). . .

CHB, why don't you tell me how the ratings should work then?

Feel free to start with the shipping cost rating question that I asked earlier. Tell me what it takes to get a 5, a 4, a 3, a 2, or the dreaded 1.

Do the same with the other categories, please!

I expect to pay about $1.50 to $3.00 for a single card shipped properly with some protection in a bubble mailer. they get a 5

Poor shipping like a plain envelope or no card protection, 1, 2 or 3 depending on shipping costs.

extremely high shipping costs like $6 or $7 (I paid $10.50 recently but factored that into my bid) gets a 1 and I mention it in the feedback.

the problem with all of this is nobody cares, as long as the seller has 99.x% and the shipping costs are reasonable most of us will just bid. It is simply not realistic to have thousands of sellers all with 99.9% or better customer satisfaction ratings, it's just not possible. In my business we have a 97.2% customer satisfaction rating and brag about that everyday, on ebay with that rating you are a dirt bag. The entire feedback systems needs an overhaul, we will never see that happen.

And by the way, how can it be retaliatory feedback if I leave it first?

You sidestep my questions by asking questions—are you a politician?

I have neither the time nor the interest in breaking down 4 categories into 5 ratings each. If you do, I suggest you have far too much time on your hands.

Retaliate. verb: to take revenge for a perceived wrong
