"COULD BE A PRUSSIA"

Or this seller could be a complete moron.

(And one of the worst AT "artists" around- his Liteside coins are being discussed over on that forum.)

<< <i>1903 DEUTSCHES REICH FUNF MARK PRUSSIA? UNSURE RARE! >>

Hey, blockhead: first of all, if you're "UNSURE" of what it is, how do you know it's "RARE"?

<< <i>903 DEUTSCHES REICH FUNF MARK PRUSSIA? RARE! THE RESEARCH I HAVE DONE ON THIS COIN THIS COULD BE A PRUSSIA? >>

Apparently your "RESEARCH" didn't include turning the coin over and reading the other side, which says HAMBURG as clear as day.

I especially like in the Item Specifics "Method of Manufacture: GERMAN".

Also, it's listed as a US colonial...

I knew there was a reason I suggested Carol add this icon image

    It's also a commerative. Can't forget that.

Those US colonial commeratives with Elizabeth II from 1877 are quite the cat's meow, y'know.

He's also an egregious toning doctor... many of his coins look obviously baked.

I messaged the seller, listing the reasons why the 8 Reales is an obvious counterfeit.

    His response:

<< <i>no nothing about these coins what so ever, and it is listed.

    - 57039 >>

    So he "no nothing"...

    Advice to the Estate Auctioneer
    by Dentuck

When you're in a big rusha,
    Don't let pressure crush ya.
    Just flip the reverse
    And see Hamburg, not Prussia.

Yup, or it could even be a Petition Crown! heck, since he is simply guessing, he should have said "it could even be a very large 200 lb. Canadian Maple Leaf gold coin!"image

I reported the auction for the 8 reales to eBay. This is the response I got from the seller:

"It is not a violation on ebay. How do you know if it is a counterfit? For your information, this coin came from savana Georgia, from Kingston coins, he had it lock in a bank boxs for over 30 years he died, his sister sold off his estate 3 years ago. SoooooooooooooooooI would not assume something unless you have the coin in your hands and are a expert from pcgs."

Looks like the "Savannah scammer" has struck again. And it looks like he knows more than he let on to 2K as well.

I sent a message informing the seller the coin is from Hamburg and got this reply:

Hello thank you very much I will be updating this coin today.

    Merry Christmas

The only thing I could do was to change the Wiki page that the seller links in their auction for the 8 Reales fake to read the following statements...

    image

Too bad I can't edit the image itself to something that would get the seller in trouble with eBay...

Given that this guy is the United States it would be prudent not to buy from US sellers.image
