ebay paypal question?

I had an individual but 4 $60 coins with an unverified paypal acct, and a feedback of (4) 83% positive out of the country in Canada.

He had a non paying bidder neg. Do you think I should ship?

link to their feedback.

If I take the money out of paypal, is there anyway I can get screwed?

If I send Fedex signature insured, am I safe?

Should I just tell them forget it?

Well, I kinda think you have to ship - if you didn't like the bidder you should have cancelled his bids before the auction ended. You have a legal contract with the buyer now. The 5 other positives sound okay. This is your lesson to state in your auctions that you ship to verified addresses only and not outside the USA.
Positive BST transactions with: too many names to list! 36 at last count.

I sent this message thru the ebay system to the buyer.

was getting ready to ship your 4 coins, but I am concerned that your paypal account in not a confirmed address.

    Why is that?

Could you please get it confirmed?

Also with such a low feedback and a negative reported this unconfirmed address worries me even more.

I have your coins boxed and ready I just want to bring this up, and ask you to get your paypal address confirmed.

    Thanks Robert

It was a buy it now, so I could not really do anything about blocking the bids at that point.

I think it will be fine, but I wanted to at least address the situation with the buyer.

I would not ship no way no how. With an unverified paypal address, you are provided no Paypal protection at all, and the buyer can confirm his address if he chooses to complete the transaction.

In the future, you can do a decent amount of pre-screening set-up with your Ebay " my account " preferances page, and also note in your listings, Paypal MUST be verified

I believe non-U.S. addresses cannot be verified.

Some can. Canada is one of the few countries where it's possible. However, even there many cannot be verified.

So I guess I will just wait for their reply, and ship away.

Will Fedex deliver with a signature?

The us post will not get a signature.

    Is FEDEX my best option?

    If not, who?

Yes, but from a PayPal seller protection standpoint it won't matter. If the address is not confirmed, you could have a dozen signatures and a videotape of the buyer receiving the shipment and you'd still lose the claim.

  • Don't use Paypal. Have him send you cash.

My auctions all say papal must ship to a confirmed address. But I get lots of payments from unconfirmed addresses and I accept just about all of them. The ones that I've thought looked fishy and asked for confirmation turned out to be scammers. So if you have a bad feeling about this guy tell him that paypal requires you to ship to a confirmed address so either confirm his address or use another form of payment. If he insists then I would try to involve paypal. Do you have a paypal account manager? they assigned me one but i've never had to use him yet. --Jerry
