You know rube...I have pretty much all of the Stars and Rookies in the set...but very few commons (except Browns) Seeing all of the commons that you are posting..especially in the condition you have them in...are giving me the itch to start building a set. I am yet to start a graded set.......I am trying to resist the urge....your cards are beauties!
the commons are the hardest, esp that stupid jim white #140,i looked for mine for 6 months, finally found one raw and it graded 5,hes the hardest to find out of all of em!!!!!
the sinister jim white, hard to get in any grade, everybody needs it it seems -let alone an autographed one,the mother of the whole set-good luck on finding one if u need it,its awful lol
IT IS FINISHED-BEHOLD THE BEAUTY OF THE 50 BOWNAN SET!!!!!!!!!!!!THAT WAS FUN GLAD YOU PICKED THE ONE SET IMGONNA WHOMP EM ALL ON TO GET TO 1st IF IT TAKES ME 10 MORE YEARSgroup hug, you guys are great
BDB this was a killer idea and I especially enjoyed your selection as I just recently started putting this set together myself. We already have one copy cat thread for the 1948 Bowmans and hopefully more will follow. Again, a very cool idea!
1 thru 144 lol- tough call black i like the backgrounds on 5/84/110/111/131/136- hard to appreciate with out em in hand, its almost like a 3- paintings in high grade with the wild backgrould colors-beautiful cards ,i have upgraded significantly since this thread on my set
they are older flips i got off ebay a while back, some of the red ones i have have tape and stuff on them are are not really worth getting a grade, the psa/dna flips, i really have no idea why people do that to regular cards with just authenitic, they are not working on the whole set graded i suppose!! ,i can see it with index cards and stuff, these are all going to be flipped into red slabs with grade and keep going till i get my 75 % set completion, i have a ton of raw ones to sub this year too, i just hate filling out those forms, i cant write that small
im going to start out with getting the blue one flipped into red with grade for 10$ each to start with
Nice thread. I have letters from a few of those players, like Billy Stone. More so they are applications to Week Ewbank on an assistant coaching job, Weeb application file was one of my pickups from his estate sale. Maybe I will look for them this week.
Collecting PSA graded Steve Young, Marcus Allen, Bret Saberhagen and 1980s Topps Cards. Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.

I have never built a graded set before...but seeing all of these great looking cards have inspired me.
I have decided to try and build the 1948 Bowman football set in either PSA or SGC 5-7. Anyone who has any available for trade or sale...let me know!

I love your autographed versions!
Why do some have the red PSA label and some have the blue?
