1975 Topps Baseball Set(Raw) NM-NMMT up for grabs

Here's a beautiful Set of 1975 Topps Baseball cards that I have worked on for the past 20 years off an on.
The set is missing only 4 cards: #2 Brock HL, #204 MVP, #205 MVP & #211 MVP.
Set is in beautiful pack fresh condition with above average centering, sharp corners, NO: creases, stains, writing, etc...
The #335 Jim Palmer is off centered to much for me and always wanted to upgrade that card.
The #500 Nolan Ryan also needs to be upgraded from EXMT. The rest of the set is SOLID!
I picked up some PSA 8's commons and Semi-Stars a few years ago and removed them from the cases to keep the set raw.
The last PSA 8's I picked up are # 199 MVP and #207 MVP. They have not yet been removed from the PSA holders. I can remove them and
place them in the set or send them as is. All this set needs is someone to put the final touches on it to make it a truely high end set.
Look at that #660 Aaron Card, the last in the set. Its not easy to find one like that. The checklist are all unmarked clean as well. I spent alot of time(money) on this set over the years, but its time to move it along.
I decided to just concentrate on my Football sets. I have some other baseball sets I will go through later to offer( 1976, 1980)

$325 + $10 S/H (Insured USPS delivery)

I'm sorry to say I'd have to agree to disagree with you on the condition of the cards you offered to show. #500 Ryan card is not even close to ex-mnt.... it has some liquid stain on it and in horrible shape. As for most every card you offered to show.... white corners and off center issues that would indicate this set was thrown together to make a quick buck. Even at the low price of $325 this offering is not a deal. If you are insinuating the cards offered are pack fresh then the packs were abused before they were opened..... many of the more centered cards are of course the one's with clearly visible worn corners (not just a hint of white at corners).

The PSA 8 graded cards can help anyone looking at the other cards know that they are not in the same league (condition) as the PSA 8 graded cards.

Call it like it is seller.... an avg at best set with poor centering on many cards, corners/edges with some wear. You don't claim you have what you don't have when selling a set! It's being dishonest to potential buyers!

I wouldn't waste my time writing this if you had been even remotely honest in your description! I find it more important to let unsuspecting buyers know that this offering is not what the owner claims it to be!!

The fact that you've included two PSA 8 graded cards in this set to claim the rest are like them.... leads anyone who knows anything about the 75 Topps Mini's to the conclusion your being dishonest! Don't use the PSA boards to scam unsuspecting buyers!

    You are a complete idiot!

<< <i>Call it like it is seller.... an avg at best set >>

What is an average set? I've looked all through my SMR and every other price guide I own and no where do I see the word "average" when referring to the condition of a card.

<< <i>leads anyone who knows anything about the 75 Topps Mini's to the conclusion your being dishonest >>

No where does the seller claim these to be minis. What are you talking about?

<< <i>#500 Ryan card is not even close to ex-mnt.... it has some liquid stain on it and in horrible shape >>

Do you really know anything about the printing of '75 Topps? That is not a stain. It is from the printing. They had issues where the ink was lighter in some spots on some cards.

<< <i>Even at the low price of $325 this offering is not a deal. >>

This set isn't worth 54% of book?

As Stone would say, F YOU!

AGREED! That is an excellent deal!

Bigresone, I have a Brock HL in EXMT+++ to NM condition that you can have, just PM me your address. I may have the others as well, but couldn't check until Friday. NICE SET BY THE WAY!

I was trying to bite my tongue on this, But Minimaster you are a COMPLETE MORON. Is he kidding me about the centering? There is NOT a "Miscut" card in the set and the High majority are 60-40 or better and thats pretty DARN good for 75's. Minis? who said anything about minis, you must be as blind as you are dumb. You have the right to disagree, but Don't come on here and run your mouth attacking my character and integriy, when you don't have a clue what your talking about.
My description stands. The set is as stated and its a Darn Nice Set indeed!

Don't know where you guys came from, but Thank you for your support and confidence. Even after 35 years as a hobby collector you can still find "hobby Idiots". I wasn't even going waste my time replying to this dolt, but he attacked my integrity and honesty and I felt I had to respond and defend myself and not just let you guys do it for me.
Vintagetoppsguy.. Thanks for the offer, but the set was gone within 20 minutes of my posting it.

    Thanks again for your support
    John

So I inadvertanly said Mini's in the last line.....that's what I collect and apart from that minor error my comments stand. Just because a few collectors come on and defend you doesn't excuse the misleading card description.... the cards do not have sharp corners and several are grossly off center and would receive an Off Center qualifier if submitted for grading, Aaron #1, Garvey, Fisk, 56 MVP, 57 MVP, Yaz, HR Leaders, Palmer, and Rice..... If these cards represent your entire set then I'm sure it's littered with cards that wouldn't grade PSA 8..... that's all I'm saying. Don't present that they will grade PSA 8 just because you cracked a few 8's and put them in your raw set!

Vintagetoppsguy..... your seller here used the term above avg. Who said the term avg. or above avg. is in the SMR anyway??? Read into my remarks however you like..... Clearly you're all a bit up tight about a few lines of opinion....get over it! If you like the cards he's selling so much.... buy them!

I followed along on this post reserving my comments until receiving the set in the mail. The seller had it pretty much on the money - this is somewhere in between NM and NM-MT. I might be a harsher grader, so I believe my assesment carries even more weight. I've hand selected multiple cards, set them off to the side and will nit-pick them some more before having them slabbed. It is well worth the advertised purchase price. Thanks John for a very easy transaction - anyone else reading this need not worry about buying from bigredone, he's legit!!

    Geeez John,

You really made a splash when you came onto the message boards ... huh? lol

I never saw this thread when it started, or the scans, etc. ... so I can't really comment on this transaction. However, it does sound like the buyer was happy with the purchase, and he seems to agree with Johns overall stated conditions.

Anyway, the reason I'm posting on this thread is because I bought some raw '72 football cards off of John about a month ago. I told him I was only looking for NM/MT or better, with decent centering .... and he came through with flying colors for me!

The cards were very nice, the price was fair, and his shipping and packaging were perfect. I couldn't have been happier.

I ended up buying a second batch of cards off him shortly thereafter, and once again everything went just fine. So he's 2 for 2 in my book, and I wouldn't hesitate to buy from him again.

So I just wanted to throw in some positives here ... since the beginning of this thread sounds pretty negative, and could unjustly influence someones opinion of him.

    Mike

Scans were here when the OP first made the post, and now since the buyer of the set is very happy, I think the scans do not matter any more.

I may be in the minority, but I think the first Care Bears movie was very underrated.
