I don't understant why this card went for $610.00??

What am I missing? No way this card was real right? Did the bidders think it was real? Please enlighten me!!

I thought that was a reasonable price for a card in that condition. I don't think that PSA would even slab that as it would be less than a "1".

image Now that is CRAZY!! Apparently they missed the "BID AS A REPRINT" part. image

Seller took a lot of "fools" money. Got $610 for a reprint M-101 Ruth too. Unreal people can be so foolish with their money.

Must be a really volatile market on this card!
Next MONTH? So he's saying that if he wins, the best-case scenario is that he'll be paying for it two weeks after the auction ends?

Forget blocking him; find out where he lives and go punch him in the nuts. --WalterSobchak 9/12/12

A seller can con someone only if the buyer also believes they're getting a "steal" and, ironically, conning the seller.

    Good point..

I have seen these auction on a regular basis and I really think this is a great business model.....

Find some fake high profile cards, add some "wear & tear", tell the buyers that it is a reprint, make a up "found in the attic" story, add some "I dont know what year it is from" comments....

    &

then take your $500.00+ profit to the bank... image

Its a scam, but the buyer also thought he was scamming the seller, LOL. The seller knows its a reprint, and thats why the put it in the description, this way when the card comes back as fake if the person deceided to grade it, then its ok because it was listed in the description.

The buyer bid that high because he thought it was getting the real deal, and thought he was ripping the seller off. He figured he'd buy himself an expensive lotto ticket. If he was lycky and it was a real one, then it would have sold for bib bucks, if not, then he only lost a little over 600 bucks, he figured its a good gamble.

1 out of 100 times, it could be a real steal/deal, but most the times its just the seller scamming, but that one rare chance it could be a real find!

First of all, know collector here I think would fall for that, if they would, then God help you because I can't. People are just so stupid when they fall for these kind of things. First of all, a real person who has a real steal wouldn't know anything about EX-MT, or know to write T206 or anything like that because it dosen't say T206 on the card, so people should know right away that its a scam.

Only people that buy PRO 10's, and sticker autos would fall for those kind of scams I think. Or people who used to and still buy from those tv card shows, HAHAHAHAHAHA. By the way, do they still have those shows? I used to love watching them, just to get myself sick LOL. I used to hate that guy with the mustache, he was such a fony!

Yea, I remember those shows , I would always LMAO watching those.

There was and still is a flea market, about 20 miles from where my store used to be and every other weekend, I would get someone running in with doctored reprints T206's and Goudeys thinking they had hit the lottery and wanted to cash in until I told them counterfeits and worth about a dime a piece.

I agree no collector on these boards would fall for that. (I hope), but as was said earlier greed takes over the brain sometimes and as another wise man once said (a sucker is born every minute).

PS: no bids yet and gramps is getting really ripe.
