Guess the grade and comments welcome - grade revealed

I know zero about Morgan VAM's and wanted to check with the experts on the board if this was anything special.

General opinions on the coin and it's grade are welcome. PCGS said MS62DMPL.

Here's one attempting to show it's mirrors. I've taken about 50 images trying to show this but it's proving harder to capture on camera than I imagined. This is the best I've got so far.

That is a nice looking coin. I do not see anything that sticks out off hand, but there are several VAMs for the date with very minor doubling. I'd check 111.vamworld.com and chedk the date to see what exists. I know I made a discovery coin with the top of the cap and ear doubled. I cannot tell from your images if you have that one or not, though.

So, if no "special" vam, then you have VAM 1. But, a truly nice looking coin.

I don't know about VAMs, but the coin has "the look". Nice cameo contrast, mirrors look pretty strong/watery, and the toning kind of highlights the periphery. I give it a thumbs up!!

Doesn't look to be 53. Here are close ups of the ear and top of cap. Don't see any doubling at all.

Your coin is probably VAM 1, a normal die pair. Still though, you have a very nice coin right there. I would not even worry with VAMming it.

For that date, the only prooflikes I have in my set are VAM-1, VAM-1a, and VAM-1d. That appears to be the VAM-1.

VAM 12, 25, or 26. The mintmark is set far to the left, which is the C3i reverse. Need to figure out the obverse. Any doubling on the date (check the bottom inside of the 3 and bottom outside of 1st 8)?

Edited to add: 62DMPL?

Couldn't see any on the 3 but there is on the bottom outside of the first 8. Here are close ups of the 8.

Not a Morganteer but I would have given a 62DMPL obv; 64 reverse. I would not have thought this would be a choice coin but could see a 63 in a reasonable world.

The doubling on the 3 should actually look like an extra spur of metal. Anyway, now that I don't have my book in front of me, I'm going to say it's VAM 25, since I remember seeing a picture of the 8 that looked like that. I'll leave it as an exercise to the reader currently close to a VAM book to say, "no, that's the VAM 26," if necessary. VAM 12 has a normal obverse.
