How far is the Chicago Sun Times show from O'Hare?

Just curious, I have a connection through there and might be able to arrange an extra long layover. Thanks in advance.

Thanks. Do I just look for the shuttle for the Stephens Convention Center near the ground transportation area?

you can take the blue line into the city, but get off at the first stop rosemont. its $1.75 each way and about a 5 min. walk to the south to the convention center. you could take a taxi but you have to call for a taxi first at the airport and then probably pay more. there could also be shuttles to the Hyatt or the Swiss Hotel (not sure if this is right or not) which are located either just to the north (hyatt) or right across the street on the west (swiss).

There should be a shuttle there, if not, a cab over to the convention center shouldn't cost you more then $8 or so. They're about 2 miles apart iirc and it's a straight shot out of the airport to the convention center. While you're there, stop over at Gibsons steak house across the street. Especially around 6 pm when the autograph guests are getting out, a lot of them will be over there. image

Are you going to the Sun Times show?

Great info, thanks. I'm going to try and go on Saturday if I can make the connection times work (fly in early am and connect out in the evening).

    Thanks,

And another vote for the blue line, though a cab works too - lots of ways to get there, and it will be fairly quick. Though in my experience a cab will stick you for more than $8 - probably closer to twice that.

Dont worry about a taxi or the blue line.. Go to the shuttle area for the hotels. There aer 4 hotels that are either connected or right across the street from the center. These hotel shuttles are free and run every half hour or so. The hotels are the Sofitel, Double Tree, Hyatt rosemont and i forget the 4th.

Good suggestion, a shuttle would work just fine.

Perfect. Thanks for all the help, guys. And I see PSA will be there, taking submissions. Hmmmm......save on shipping, drop off a sub, this is looking like a good idea if I can swing it.

    Thanks,

Dumb question, I'm not actually a current member of PSA right now - though I suppose I could walk up, join, and then submit my X # of cards at whatever tier I'd joined at. No? image

    Ron,

Two weeks after the show, You'll start a thread that will go something like this.

I dropped my submission off at the Sun / Times show 2 weeks ago and its still not logged!!!!!!

You'll call PSA and "sorry, but we received a boat load of submission at the Sun / Times Show and we are logging all fast as we can"

5 weeks go by and you'll get a call and find out PSA held back your submission because your "3" on the submission form looks like a "5".

Error corrected and submission logged 6 weeks from date of drop off.

Personally, I've always had better luck mailing submission in over dropping at shows.

Good Luck with whatever route you choose

    Mr Burgandy,

I've dropped off cards for grading at the Sun Times show before and have never had an excessive delay in getting my cards logged in. They have always reviewed my submission to make sure everything is correct before I leave the table so I don't generally need to worry about them sitting on a problem shelf. I'd say if you're going to be there, save yourself some coin and leave the cards with them. They package up your cards and ship them back to their office for you and then unpack them when they get back. It's their postage, but you're insured because the cards are in their hands.

    Just my .02

    A fan.
