    i had an inkling how it was done but reading that website soldified
    it for me.

    BUT

    what I want to know is how this gentleman makes these.

    EBAY ITEM #140175349607 sorry don't know the linky thing yet.

    he somehow bends the whole side over, if you look closley the whole side of a coin is either on the inside
    or the outside.

    The dentils are on one edge and the hole he drilled is on the other edge.

    I tried using what tools and supplies I had,,,,it took me a few hours total but was a test piece and didnt come out too bad...an hoping to prefect it on the 2nd try..... does anyone know all the different methods of making the coin rings such as the details on the outside of the ring?

    Cool - I have a couple older ones and I always wondered how they made them. I would like to try to make one but my artistic ability is nil and my patience is a close second

    This is an old navy way to while away the time. Many Navy Brides wear these as their wedding rings. Interesting how this has been refined.

    I wonder how that ring is made. I prefer it also, but I have been searching google and cannot find out how.

    I wonder how that ring is made.

    I have no idea, but I emailed the guy on ebay last week and asked if he made these rings to order. He sure does. I sent him a 1976 40% silver Kennedy bicentennial half last week. He had it finished and back to me in 3 days. It looks unbelievable! I dont know how he does it. It only cost me $30 bucks, too. I will post pictures later. I am impresed with this guy. He is real nice and professional.

    The only problem is that the copper in the coin eventually turns your finger a little black under the ring. It washes awy easily. Is there any way to stop copper from oxidizing?
