A recent pickup......1860-O Seated dollar in an old NGC fat holder

I picked up this 1860-O, NGC, AU-58, Seated dollar, at Coinfest last weekend. The coin has really nice surfaces (uncommon for the 1860-O), and has beautiful shimmering, underlying luster (scan doesn't show it, but it's there). My scanned images make the coin look darker than it is in hand.

I saw that coin at Coinfest, and noticed that it lacked the heavy bagmarks that commonly plague this date. I thought it was quite nice, and the reverse is particularly well detailed. Congrats on your pickup.

Best,

Love the coin. I went after a few Seated Dollars like this when I was building my type set, but they always went for Mars money. My spidey sense tells me you didn't get this for AU money. If you did, then YOU SUCK.

Very nice and goes against the recent theme on the board here that most old slabs have already been cherry picked. I don't have to many old holders but I have a few and have no desire to try to upgrade and get them out of the old slabs, but I guess many do?
