This set just sold for almost $7,000! The raw sets don't seem to be doing much yet, but I believe they will start to increase in price as we get closer to Christmas.

You guys crack me up... a set that you could have bought from the mint for $100 less than a year ago sells for minimum of $350 raw now, megabucks if graded and you post there's hope for the 2006 set after all!!!!
<< <i>I think that it's those who were grabbing up sealed sets for $700 each that are looking for signs of hope.
The $7k BIN price for this $100 set is completely insane, if not suspect. 70s aren't THAT rare, even for the unc. Bajjerfan has it right.... >>
There were a lot individual raw sets sold for $500 - $550 and unopened boxes of 10 that sold for $9,000. It will be a long time before those people get their money back (unless they got lucky and found some 70s).

What are the unopened box of 10 sets bringing these days?

Hard to say - the last two listings for unopened boxes were ended early because of "an error in the listing". Seller likely got an offer he couldn't refuse. Here is an NGC set of 70s that is over $4,000 with five hours to go!!
edit: changed five days to five hours - sorry

<< <i>For 7K it would have been nice to see a close up of the unc. obv/rev ! >>
The label sez its a 70 so you don't need to see/know any more than that.
Havin wunna them thar label printers izz almost better than a check writin machine. >>
you'd need to slab it too! :-)
me thinks sumorada was wanting an eye view of a 70....how many NGC 70's you holding on to? he could get a few of those to cross if he got lucky...which he has been this year a few times over!
the price is near what the first 70/70/70 set sold for in early July....it is nutz when you factor the PR70 and 70DCAM can be had for $1000 combined today.
