No funny business. Absolutely NO Photoshop involved .... just minimal skill with the camera, point & shoot.

Coin looks a LOT better in hand. Opinions Welcomed.

Could you take a vertical picture with a base of material that contains some text that would illustrate a depth of reflection? It sure looks PL from these pictures.

I could give it a shot but not at the present moment..... I'll need to retrieve the coin along with a base material that has text to it in order to attempt to show relectivity perhaps later on today, time permitting.

nice looking coin, with a strong center strike both obv and rev. but the problem is that the outside strike does not have the frosting that the center devices have. also, it is difficult to see the mirrors of the field.

pcgs is very tight with awarding dmpl and pl just as they are very tight with cam and dcam on proof coins-- one small break in the frosting can keep a cam from being a dcam, and in the case of proof like examples, a drop in the mirror can do the same.

still a nice looking coin.

I don't think so, though I cannot say for sure from the images. It has contrast with frosty devices but the fields look like reflective satin cartwheels and not mirrors. That is, as you know, a great date for really nice Morgans.

Thanx JC. Again, I appreciate the input but as I now look at my own images taken months ago, I realize that there simply is NO WAY to definitively declare one way or the other based on these images alone.

Already, I can appreciate what all have attempted to convey.

I have to re-shoot the coin in an attempt to better show what the fields actually look like in order for respondants to arrive at their best determinations.

Deep Mirror Proof Like Morgan dollars need to have mirror like fields in addition to frosted devices. You have a very attractive coin. I like the frosted devices and toning. Personally I like my Morgans with loads of cartwheel luster which yours appears to have. That much cartwheel luster means there is no way that Morgan could ever get a DMPL designation. It apparently has too much luster and not enough reflectivity for a PL designation either.
