Northeast is a great company to do business with. The coin itself looks RB for sure, but I personally would give it 62. Based on the knicks alone, it would go 63, but with the spots, I would knock it down to 62. Really nice reverse though, IMO.

MS62RB. The spots on the obverse equal negative eye-appeal.

Considerering the date, I can see NGC giving the grade. I don't have any technical problem with it. Welcome to the Monkey House. Mike

I don't think its a bad coin. With the spots, I would have rather bought it as a 62RB, but I think the coins is acceptable as a 63RB.

I have no issue with that coin being graded 63RB. Seems almost like a net grade of 62 for the obverse and 64 for the reverse~

    Congrats on your purchase!

Coin is a 63 R&B and would have gone 64 R&B but you have spots, a hard cheek hit and what looks like a bit of PVC on UNUM on the Rev.

WS-It might be PVC, my guess was some verdigris.
  • 63RB is a fair grade IMHO.

Strong Strike for the Date and MM.

    Definitely RB

Considerable scratches and that one acroos the upper cheek is detracting.

    Way too many spots!

I would get that in a protective holder such as Intercept Shield ASAP to keep those spots from growing!image

    Welcome to the boards.

not a bad coin at all. def MS and RB, but unsure if a 63.
    thanks for sharing.
  • I would say the contact marks on the obverse definitely put it in the 63 category and of course the spots as well. Overall taking into account the nice reverse and overall eye appeal it seems that despite some distractions 63 seems more reasonable then 62.

Nice redness, although I'd like to see a bit less scratching and spotting on the obverse and I'm not sure about the green on the reverse. Abe looks like he did a face plant coming off a half pipe!

I'd personally call it a 62 but can accept that someone else thinks it's a 63. Looks like the mint lustre is good enough to overcome the other issues.

But enough with the criticism, I wish I had one that nice!

the numeric grade is reasonable, but don't know/don't care about the color designation
