eBAY seller's question.

I started up a few auctions this past weekend. One of the items had a $0.99 and a BIN. Someone bid, and the BIN disappeared. I now have a buyer asking what the BIN is. I'd like to have the BIN return to the auction page. How do I do that? Thanks.

Using a BIN on a "no reserve" auction with a very low starting bid is a complete waste of money. Unless your BIN is set insanely low, someone will almost always quickly bid the minimum to take out your BIN.

<< <i>Actually I thought ebay made a change that the BIN stays until the end even after bids. I've seen that on many non-reserve auctions. Sounds like you're just late in ebay's implementation scheme. >>
That's a good start if so.
I think a BIN should remain available as long as the high bid is a certain amount below the BIN.
For example, if you have a coin with a BIN at $100 but start it with no reserve at one cent, you should be able to leave the BIN in place until the high bid hits (say) $75 or $80, at which point it would disappear.
The traditional eBay status quo makes a BIN a waste of money on a low-start, no-reserve auction.
<< <i>They have not made that change as far as I know. Why sacrifice profits to convenience sellers. >>
Because without sellers there *are* no profits?
Besides, I don't even think it's clear this would reduce profits.
