As promised, pics from the new Canon A570

Straight from the camera, nothing done to them except rotating and cropping.

Fun camera. Have to learn how to best use all the manual features on it

Also.. seems as if the camera REFUSES to work with batteries, only the AC adapter. I'm hoping others here who've used Canon cameras have seen that and there's a way to "reflash" the camera to get it to work. I'd hate to have to return it.

Look on the bottom of the camera. There might be a tiny tiny button you would have to push with a pen head. If there is push it hold it down for 5 secs and it will reset....Thats a soft reset...To flash the rom you will have to download from the Cannon site a new firmware.

While you're at the Canon website, download a copy of the advanced manual if you don't have one. Be sure the batteries are in the correct orientation and be sure to have the cover all the way down when you slide it closed....you should hear a click when it's closed properly.

OK... now it's working on batteries. I swear I had previously made SURE I had the batteries in right, made SURE the cover was shut correctly, even tried 3 different sets of batteries (2 Lithiums and one Alkaline).

Maybe having it on the AC line somehow "reset" it

Who knows....
