Bear, have you submitted your JL's to PCGS??

    Look forward to your grades.

If you get an MS72 1/2.....I am moving to Iran!! image

I am in a holding pattern......my 2 JL's are in PCGS limbo at this point.

Got to say....PCGS has been quite quick on the grade of late!!!

They obviously culled through thousands of MS69s to pick the three most flawless Jefferspouses(Spouffersons?) that they could find.

I'm not selling any time soon.....I agree with FLBuff, the JL proof will be the one coin in this series collectors will be going after.

Also, the 1 coin limit per household should have an interesting effect on this issue.

Hopefully, the Mint will not use Lady Liberty on the other spouseless presidents.

    **********************************************

    OK, here's a deep thought.

    If, Hillary becomes President....... image

....then Witness, the "First Laddie Spouse" Gold Coin Series.

BUT, if Bill passes away before Hillary is elected.(ex. say, one of his 20 body guards accidentally has his firearm misfire, and Mr. Clinton is in the line of fire).

Is the obverse going to be Sir Liberty in this scenario?? image

That's a coin I would have great ambivalence over as a collector.

This First Spouse series will certainly have many twists and turns as time goes on.

Yes, the stats from PCGS show 14 MS70.

But, there are currently 12 on ebay that have sold or are currently active.

I think there will be a big jump in the numbers come Monday.

Or, if you are a flipper...have at it!!!

Going by the early pop reports of the first two spouses which are updated on a weekly basis and are here, it appears there have been more initial submission of the Jefferson's Liberty compared to the first two. I agree the Liberty Proof 70 will be the one I would hold on to.

    Is 25% a low percentage?

I think the reason why the Jefferson Liberty's are not selling with such vigor anymore is that people are tired of paying large prices for the 70's only to drop by a huge amount two weeks later.

The Washington and Addam's were very hot, with a high ending auction price. People got burned on the prices. So now they are bidding very conservatively. IMO

I'm suprised at the lower grades in First Strike coins. It must be from people people sending them in original box without inspecting them.

It is good that folks are bidding in a more careful and conservative manner.

This will tend to build a slow and steady base, instead of fast up and

fast down. Stupidity has never been the way to profitable purchases.
