Can you use accetone on clad?

I got some Kennedy halves today at the bank and one was a 1964 and one was a 1967 but the 1967 has something on it that looks like fingernail polish. Can you use the accetone on the clad or is it just better to spend the thing?

Sure, clean away, the acetone won't hurt them.
I used to be somebody, now I'm just a coin collector.

  • Thanks! I don't think we have one of those in the collection so I wanted to get it cleaned up a little. I know what I have is not big money it is just something to do when I am not mowing or working outside. This will be a project for this fall.

Yes, acetone is fine on coins, but it's not fine on fire so be careful.
