Sarasota show today

Went to the show in Sarasota this morning, arrived around 10:30 am. To my surprise there was a fair amount of foot traffic already when I arrived. The first table I went to, the dealer was engaged with a very elderly lady looking for classic commems, and as she was going to take some time, I figured I'd move on for a bit and return a bit later. He had several slabbed commems that were cleaned, and discounted accordingly from sheet levels, the lady was looking to buy and break them out to put in her album! As it turned out, I believe she took the Spanish Trail and Hawaiian... when I finally returned to his table, I checked out his Indian cents, he had a few nice pieces, but I didn't buy them.
At another table, found an outstanding 1904 RB 65 Indian that was almost full red, the field and cheek were very clean and it has great original color, took it for 135. Sold a little bullion gold of no real numismatic value for 780/oz. I had bought several ounces a while back, now I may live to regret that even though I did turn a nice profit, but they were just bullion to me and I'd rather have the money in something more interesting. Glad I did, as I found a completely original twenty center in PCGS 64 with nice golden reddish color on both sides and got it at sheet bid... nice guy, apparently him and his dad are going to open a brick and mortar shop over there in Northport, so they were definately in a selling mood. We talked a bit about original twenty centers, and how scarce they seem to be of late. It's a'75-s, but fairly well struck and with great original color. I wasn't there much longer than about two hours, the kind of stuff I was looking for was not at most of the tables, lots of album pages of 2X2's and quite a bit of modern bullion items... did see a really neat 1856 half dime with great color in a pcgs 65 slab, along with a really nice Barber (think it was a '98) Half reverse holdered with awesome target toning on the rev. but the cheek was a little banged up for my tastes at the same table I got the Injun cent.

NGC was there, I got a free box and a sample slab of a 1994 Mongoilian 200T, guess they are promoting their NGC world slabbing service, and the kid behind the table was friendly we chatted a few minutes while I grqabbed some swag...

You can tell we are coming into season here in fla, lots of old folks and traffic at the show and on the roads of Sarasota. Put the top down and enjoyed the relatively cool day we had as I returned home to central Florida. Anyone else there today??

John

Edited for my por gramer and spelinn...
