A few questions on dealer services.

A few open ended questions for the dealers present that want to respond.

I have a friend whose Grand father recently passed away and left the family with a rather extensive coin collection. And they are in a quandary as to what to do with the collection. But for now they want to keep it as a family heirloom. But would like to determine what they have.
My questions for them are:

1. Do you offer a service of cataloging and estimating grades and values of the coins and the whole collections? And if so what are your charges.

2. And as a follow on would you be willing submit there coins for grading? And again what would be the charges be for this service. And witch firm would you use.

3. This collection is in the northwest so is it possible to do this long distance with some form of security for both parties. Or would it only be possible to be done locally.

Thanks for the help and if JR’s stepfather sees this it is for them.

Not that I'm basically retired, I have the time to do that. In the shop we charged $25/hour.

    2. And as a follow on would you be willing submit there coins for grading? And again what would be the charges be for this service. And witch firm would you use.

I submit to PCGS, NGC and ANACS depending on the coin (but mostly to PCGS). I do this for actual charges.

    3. This collection is in the northwest so is it possible to do this long distance with some form of security for both parties. Or would it only be possible to be done locally.

Shipping Registered is as safe as it gets.

I used to be somebody, now I'm just a coin collector.
Recipient of the coveted "You Suck" award, April 2009 for cherrypicking a 1833 CBHD LM-5, and April 2022 for a 1835 LM-12, and again in Aug 2012 for picking off a 1952 FS-902.
