Steelers-75th Anniversary Team

Steelers 75th Anniversary Team announced...Maybe some additions are due the All-Time Steelers set?

OFFENSE
Terry Bradshaw - Quarterback (1970-83)
Jerome Bettis - Running Back (1996-05)
Rocky Bleier - Running Back (1968, 1970-80)
Franco Harris - Running Back (1972-83)
Bennie Cunningham - Tight End (1976-85)
Elbie Nickel - Tight End (1947-57)
John Stallworth - Wide Receiver (1974-87)
Lynn Swann - Wide Receiver (1974-82)
Hines Ward - Wide Receiver (1998-Present)
Larry Brown – Offensive Tackle (1971-84)
Dermontti Dawson – Center (1988-00)
Alan Faneca – Guard (1998-Present)
Tunch Ilkin – Offensive Tackle (1980-92)
Jon Kolb – Offensive Tackle (1969-81)
Mike Webster – Center (1974-88)

DEFENSE
Joe Greene – Defensive Tackle (1969-81)
L.C. Greenwood – Defensive End (1969-81)
Casey Hampton – Nose Tackle (2001-Present)
Ernie Stautner – Defensive Tackle (1950-63)
Dwight White – Defensive End (1971-80)
Jack Ham – Outside Linebacker (1971-82)
Jack Lambert – Middle Linebacker (1974-84)
Greg Lloyd – Outside Linebacker (1988-97)
Joey Porter – Outside Linebacker (1999-2006)
Andy Russell – Outside Linebacker (1963, 1966-76)
Mel Blount – Cornerback (1970-83)
Jack Butler – Defensive Back (1951-59)
Carnell Lake – Safety (1989-98)
Troy Polamalu – Safety (2003-Present)
Donnie Shell – Safety (1974-87)
Rod Woodson – Cornerback (1987-96)

SPECIALISTS
Gary Anderson – Kicker (1982-94)
Bobby Walden – Punter (1968-77)

I'd say Hines Ward and Alan Faneca are no brainers..Polamalu and Hampton, probably need a couple more years...The other 8 on this list that are not part of the Registry All-Time Steelers set are debatable...Not sure I'd vote for any of the others (if I had a vote..lol)

The team all time sets seem small to me ,Well the Redskins set is for set.

If you look at the 75th anniversary Redskins many names should be on the all time skins set that are not.

75 YEARS WOW cool to have team like the Skins ,Steelers ,Bears ect that have been around that long

Did they do a 75th Anniversary Team? I remember they did the top 70 Redskins of the first 70 years or something, but don't remember seeing a 75th all-time TEAM, like by position. If you have it post it, I'd like to see who they selected.

70 players, I mean that's probably a little too broad as far as showing the true all-time GREATS of the team by selecting each position. If they had it down to 25-35 like the Steelers team, would be alot more meaningful (to me anyway)...

    The Eagles did one....

    Donovan McNabb, QB, 1999-present
    Steve Van Buren, RB, 1944-51
    Keith Byars, FB, 1986-92
    Harold Carmichael, WR, 1971-83
    Tommy McDonald, WR, 1957-63
    Pete Pihos, TE, 1947-55
    William Thomas, LT, 1998-present
    Wade Key, LG, 1970-80
    Chuck Bednarik, C, 1949-62
    Shawn Andrews, RG, 2004-present
    Jon Runyan, RT, 2000-present

    Clyde Simmons, DE, 1986-93
    Reggie White, DE, 1985-92
    Jerome Brown, DT, 1987-91
    Charlie Johnson, DT, 1977-81
    Chuck Bednarik, MLB, 1949-62
    Seth Joyner, OLB, 1986-93
    Alex Wojciechowicz OLB, 1946-50
    Eric Allen, CB, 1988-94
    Troy Vincent, CB, 1996-2003
    Andre Waters, SS, 1984-93
    Brian Dawkins, FS, 1996-present

    Tim Brown, KR, 1960-67
    Brian Westbrook, PR, 2002-present
    David Akers, PK, 1999-present
    Sean Landetta, P, 1999-2002, 2005
    Vince Papale, Spec. Teams, 1976-78

    Andy Reid, Coach, 1999-present

I don't see any glaring ommisions from the Registry All-Time Eagles set...Not sure how McNabb got the nod over Van Brocklin OR Cunningham though....

I actually emailed the registry two weeks ago about getting Hines added to the set. Agree that Polamalu and Hampton aren't quite ready for the set.
