The listing was removed because it violated the eBay Circumvention of eBay Fees policy. The violation occurred when you included the following information in your listing:

Quantity orders welcome, want lists aggressively and confidentially serviced.

All fees related to this listing have been credited to your account. We also notified members who placed bids on the item that the listing has
been canceled.

Using systems and techniques to circumvent, or avoid, eBay fees is not permitted. Fee avoidance, or "circumvention," is damaging to the online marketplace, disadvantages sellers who pay their fees, and damages members’ trust.

Offering buyers the opportunity to purchase an item or other merchandise outside of eBay is considered a form of fee avoidance.

Again? What was that deal they did last week that you posted about? They have it in for you or something?

No, not unless you only show how many are available through eBay.

Not really, at least, not based on this. That has been a policy of theirs for a LONG time.

    This rule is nothing new.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

Does eBay go looking for this stuff or did someone report you?

    That's a good question!

However if they actually reviewed every listing there would be a slight downturn in listings, especially from China.

they pulled one of my auctions last week

    payment terms ->

    cash, money order, check, paypal

I had a typo on the first word, it clearly was supposed to be cashier's check

they pulled it within 5 hours of listing,

the funny thing was, I had 6 more auctions running that all had the identical terms

so not sure if their computer finds these problem(?) auctions - or if they randomly check new ones posted by some eBay customer service rep in some 3rd world country getting 25 cents per hour

I'd be willing to bet that someone reported his auctions. I've seen hundreds of auctions with statements such as that and they never get pulled. So, that begs the question, MrEarlyGold, who did you tick off?image

In about 2 hours, let the joust begin.
  • fcfc Posts: 12,793 ✭✭✭
it happens to all of us. my last was because i put a link to the
website where i bought it for people to reference the specs.

just do not do it again or try to reword it so it is not so blatant.

my last example, i just cut and pasted the whole website text
    into the auction. voila.

I was thinking the same thing.

Me: Why again do we have to put images of the reverse of the slabs in the auctions?

  • I have a friend who just got busted shill bidding. He had a hag on Ebay in 70 and he was getting no action (he feels it is the new search thing) - so he bid a high price on the item so he could keep it and relist at a later date. No problem right. Not so.

He then asked for a final value fee refund because the sale terms were not acceptable. They busted him.

He probably would have never had a problem if he did not ask for the fee back. Taking money or business away from Ebay is a no - no.

I will translate part of your Ebay Notice:

<< <i>Using systems and techniques to circumvent, or avoid, eBay fees is not permitted. Fee avoidance, or "circumvention," is damaging to the online marketplace, disadvantages sellers who pay their fees, and damages members’ trust.

Offering buyers the opportunity to purchase an item or other merchandise outside of eBay is considered a form of fee avoidance.

I sometimes make similar offers in my auctions but I always refer to listing them on ebay. For example, "I also have the 2007 PCGS PR70DCAM buffalo. Please let me know if you're interested in a matched pair and I will list it for you."

That is frequently the case when eBay ends auctions for petty crap. There are plenty of slimeball sellers who use the report this auction tactic to hurt competitors.

Try typing "Quantity orders welcome, want lists aggressively and confidentially serviced." (and/or whatever you want to put in the listing) and your email/phone/etc into a graphic image, instead of straight text.....Then link to that graphic image via html coding... That way, if ebay is electronically trolling for "violations", it's less likely to be found.......

No guarantees, but it's worth a shot

On another tack, you would probably be better off (although less likely to be read), putting this information and/or links to your website on your ABOUT ME page, where I believe, unless their 'commandments" have changed, such link are permitted....

You are quite correct. Fee avoidance has been a no no for as long as I can remember. You can not use ebay to to solicit sales off their system. Even their own pro-stores can not be advertised in a listing. Anyone who sells on ebay should be aware of this. Nothing personal, but anyone who does that, should expect their listings to get removed eventually when ebay is made aware of it.
