Did anyone see this Scarface on EBAY last night???

And, I thought i may have had a chance of sniping this one at $145 bucks!!! Boy, was I wrong.

I cannot tell exactly what stage this Scarface was based on the pictures, but would u pay/gamble $1527 bucks on this coin?

Vam experts, what do you say the die progression is on this one? I guesstimated 1B-H4 (stage 4) to 1B-H5 (stage 5)

Enjoy your day...Len

Wow! Big money. I missed it, but don't think I would have seen it with all the toning.
  • I passed right by it, very hard to notice until you pointed it out. But according to the price, at least 2 others saw it.

    Man that's hard to see.

It's a die break running from the back of her nose across her cheeck down to her hair.

The toning sure makes it hard to see. It doesn't look like a very advanced die state, though. I'm not sure who the buyer was.

Yes, I cannot believe I noticed it as well....It is very difficult to see beneath all that toning.

Which makes me ask the question, why would anyone pay that kind of money, without seeing it in hand?

It's only an EDS, if you ask me....but who knows what is under that toning???? Too much of a gamble for me, hence my pathetic $145 bid!!! image

Perfect example of why original isn't always better than dipped. That coin is fugly.

I honestly still don't see it, and being the cautious type that I am I wouldn't have bid anything on this one. I hope the buyer gets what they think they're getting.
    When in doubt, don't.

i think its very difficult to see because of the toning, and the fact that it is an early die state.

If it were a full blown Scarface, I think we'd all see it, even with all the toning.

I think it may be worth $200 - $300 bucks max

All I see is a scratch running the wrong direction to be an 88-O scarface. What am I missing?

The die break progression starts at the obverse dot between the E & P in E Pluribas.....Do u see it now?

More advanced Scarfaces have the crack actually going through the face. On this specimen, it is hard to see through the face, because it may not have gotten that far.

No I don't see it there, in fact first place I looked. I downloaded it and tried to lighten it, take out the color etc, but the photo is just too bad.
