Interesting Vending Machine Find...

So at the pharmacy where I work, a vending machine with old packs of sports and non sports cards was put in. Most expensive items were $5, cheapeast were 50 cents. When I was walking by this morning, I saw that it had coins in sets!

I was intrigued...They were $2 each, so I bought three. There was a 3 coin set of Cents of Centuries which had a AG Indian Head Cent, an UNC Steel Cent, and an UNC 2006 cent. Cool stuff!

The other set had a beat to hell Liberty Head Nickel which was an Poor or Fair at best, and a Jefferson Nickel.

The last set was the two bicentenial quarters with a nice decoration of the fourth of july. Both of the quarters had toned nicely by being in the holder.

Nothing amazingly valuable, but it was fun to see things like that there! I will post scans of them tomorrow.

I see those at rest stop gas stations from time to time. Seeing pictures of all sorts of silver on the front of the first one I encountered, I got excited and started putting money in. Once I paid 75 cents apiece for two wheat pennies I decided to give up, not willing to waste any more money.

When I worked for Dave & Buster's, we had a machine with various prizes in it called 'Whistle Stop'. Coins were one of the prizes- IHC's, Buffalo Nickels, Mercury Dimes, Barber Dimes and Quarters, Liberty Nickels, etc., all avg. circulated. The coins were always the most popular items in it. I hope some of the kids that won them started collecting!
