This set is a dud. You're paying a premium for packaging!! Limit 10 per household.....another way for the Mint to create a perception of demand!!
  • I know but I bought the first set, received last years as a Christmas gift and had a complete Prestige set left to me a few years back, so I'll still buy one just to keep my run going, I'm ahead in this game of these bulky sets..image

    On another Mint matter:

I was already ripped off a few days back for about $111 bucks when I received my five Mint sets, now they are not duds, that was outright thievery, real garbage, pocket change has looked better and so since they were ALL bad sets and I sent them back today.

I'll probably get five more bad sets when they arrive again.......image

  • I was a lot luckier on mint sets than I was on the silver proof sets. Out of five mint sets, there was only one bad looking coin, a spotted Madison dollar. Gonna keep these.

  • You were lucky, I did fine with all of my Proofs (silver and clads) and I'm generally forgiving of the US Mint but this years batch of mint sets have been unreal.

I think that they were at the point where they may have realized that the set actually may not make a release date in 2007 and really rushed these out as fast as man and machine could, the end result is all of the complaints you see hear and elsewhere.

  • It looks like a proof set with proof Jamestown and Little Rock dollars......that's one way to get rid of some Little Rock coins. I think it's overpriced though.

  • I have the first two, but I really don't care if I continue it or not. The packaging seems to be more appealing this year, and that's the only thing of the set I don't have.

Looks like a good way to lose $50.00.
