NCS or ANACS? Which holder is more marketable?

Yes, buy the coin not the holder, but assuming you have the exact same keydate VAM which has been cleaned in either holder, does one have more market acceptability--and hence a higher value--or is it sixes?

I recently inherited some coins from a relative. Included was a nice 1895-S VAM 3, but alas someone wiped it a bit too harshly, otherwise I think it would have been a minimum MS64.

If given the choice I would go with NGC

I would suggest submitting your coin for NCS Details Encapsulation. If your coin is acceptable for NGC grading, you will receive it back in an NGC holder. If it does have signs of surface problems, you will receive it back in an NCS holder with a details grade.

i have a feeling anacs aint what it used to be, so i will say ngc/ncs
also.

Will ANACS attribute a problem coin? I know NCS will.

ANACS is very tight with details grades, especially on gold. I've had many an AU called XF by them. Go with NCS.
