Is a card considered "bent" if it is missing?

Seller claims that he never took the card out of the screwdown case???

eBay Item

Imagine my surprise in finding the card in 2 pieces.

If someone can post a direct scan of the attachment it would be great.

  • I can see, at minimum, a crease in the card in the sellers photo. This crease matches up alomost perfectly with the tear in your photo. I would suspect the seller knew exactly what he was selling.

I agree, a light spot in the auction photo that matches almost exactly with the tear line. Definitely torn in auction photo

I am still waiting to hear back from the seller (the last message he sent claimed that he never took the card out of the case)

I did pay for the item with PayPal and will fill out a claim if needed.

Latest reply the seller sent through eBay:

"SEND THE CARD BACK.AFTER I RECEIVE IT I WILL SEND YOU YOUR MONEY THROUGH PAY-PAL AFTER I LOOK AT THE CARD."

I replied that I wanted to e-mail him a scan first. I'll also be sure to include delivery confirmation when I do return the card.

The card stock was probably thick enough to keep it intact while under the screw down. Maybe he didn't really know, but i bet the two go together almost seamlessly. I'd send it back to him put together, that way he can see the difference when he opens the case. If his story is true, he'll have an "ah ha" moment and it will be obvious to him. If he's lying, he'll probably come up with another BS story. I hope it works out.

  • Man that's horrible. I sure wish you luck with the refund. As for the seller I think the guy knew about the tear. In the pic it looks like it could pass for a heavy crease , but no way could you not see that tear if you had the encased card in your hand. Well unless you were nearly blind that is.
  • If he had stated that in the auction it would have sold for over $50 and maybe close to $100 with a lot less hassle
