If he was "terminated with cause" hopefully no severance package will be needed. It will come down to which is cheaper - paying him something to go quietly or paying for the lawsuit he files.
The ACG lawsuit was settled and paid for by the insurance companies. Philosophically, the ANA or any of the other defendants, for that matter would not have wanted to settle, but the insurance companies, in essence, mandated that they settle or there would be no insurance coverage in effect re: ACG v. World

My guess is that the ANA expects to pay Cipoletti something to go away, I'm sure this would be cheaper than a lawsuit.

This is true of the last remnant/revision of the ACG lawsuit, which included defendants Stuppler, ANA, CU, and Heritage, if my memory serves me correctly. I was simply dropped from the suit in its early stages, with no settlement. I believe most, if not all, of the others, including Craton and JCarney (and you, Julian) were also dropped without any insurance settlement.
I was dropped with no settlement, as well, Barry, but the question posed was about the money that the ANA was supposed to have lost.
In fact, I do not believe that the ANA lost any monetary damages, but certainly lost valuable staff time, as both you and I did.

I've worked with Donn on several matters that pertain to the ANA, and it's a pleasure to work with someone as capable and professional as Donn,
On another note, while acting as special counsel to the ANA President, I strongly recommended that the ANA board adopt a policy that the Executive Director cannot be the General Counsel. A Motion was made to that effect and it passed unanimously. I further recommended that the Bylaws be amended to adopt that as a formal policy of the ANA. As General Counsel to the ANA, I am quite sure that that Bylaw change will happen in the near future. With regard to these matters, the Board acted unanimously - President Stuppler was in the lead in this and many of the changes that occurred at the October Board meeting had started even prior to the new Board taking office.
There is much that cannot be discussed, some of what is in this thread is not accurate, but as there is litigation pertaining to this, I cannot comment further, except to say that the changes that were made were carefully reviewed and made based on a factual review of events that have occurred over the past several years.

Funny you should menetion that - I'm in Colorado Springs, and tomorrow I'll check out the museum and see how much space is available - but a display of the 1856-1863 FE & IHC patterns would be more interesting, but unfortunatley less colorful - PM me and I'll send you the address where you should send the patterns for a future display

I have heard specific rumors about what has gone on in the past, I'm not saying anything else, if they are true it will come out eventually I'm fairly certain.
