Odd message from Ebay buyer

morgansforevermorgansforever Posts: 8,500 ✭✭✭✭✭
I must say this is the first time I've been insulted for being curtious.

Woman buys my coin, pays with Paypal. Everything is good.

So I send her a short email:
Hello Margaret, your NGC MS69, 96 Eagle will be in the mail tomorrow.
Thank you for your purchase,
Scott

This is the reply:
dont bother me with trivial email, I'm a busy woman and have little time for BS e-mails.

Do I dare respond?

Send her a Presidential dollar instead and see how she responds.

    That is even more trivial

Just let it go...she paid already, so just ship her the coin and let her wallow in her own b*tchiness. She would've spent just as much time sending you a quick thank-you as it took to send you the message that she did...

In the future, only send a message after the coin is in the mail; otherwise, you are wasting the person's time.

That is exactly what I plan to do. Why lower myself to that level. Just thought I would share with you all.

It occurs to me that it took more time for her to reply than to read your email. So if she were really that busy why respond and waste more time? You sure her first name is Margaret and not Laura?

image She did the most important thing, paid. Do not respond, unless you have not left feedback yet. Then say something nice. I send e-mail thru E-Bay on every sale. They all look the same,"Payment received, Thanks, Item shipped USPS Ins. del. conf...etc." No complaints yet.

IMO the least you can do is be a nice guy and send her a box of tampax with her coin image
  • Wow!!! You sold a coin to Hillary. She must be working to hard.image
  • I'd block her from bidding your stuff in the future and just leave it at that.

Move along and avoid any future problems with her.

Don't respond - she is the customer. And this customer doesn't want emails.
Sure she is a bit rude - let it go.

Don't worry, she will send a note tomorrow demanding to know when her package shipped and why she has not received it.

Most customers thank me for notifying them, can't understand why she would not want to know the details of her purchase. I bet she replies to Amazon the same way.
  • 19Lyds19Lyds Posts: 26,499 ✭✭✭✭
Wow! I wonder what really prompted the response? It certainly isn't the response of a rational individual.

Personally, I would not block her just yet since she did pay but I would not give feedback until after she does just to cover my but.............

    Yes. Take the "high road".

If she did that in response to a polite email, just imagine what's she's going to say when the mail carrier bothers her to deliver the coin! Hopefully, she will be too busy to neg you!

She claimed she didn't have time for e-mails, I hope she read the listing.

The coin is milk spotted, the pics are painfully obvious, and there is no refund.

I even underlined, and changed the font to bold, no refund

My only question is: If she has so little time for "BS" emails, how did she have enough time to respond?

She thinks your small talk may lead to off topic things. I have no psychological degree, but perhaps you should write her back AFTER the entire transaction is complete. Do NOT send flowers.

A nasty reply isn't stooping to her level. Some people need a nice heaping dose of politeness training which their parents forgot to give them.

It's just part of being a seller so just send her the coin minus anything but a thank you and then give her good feedback once she leaves you the same or at least indicates via email that all is well. Then move on. There really is no other way to go. image
