Looking for Gold Buffalo mintages......

Don't own a Redbook, but doubt there listed anyway. Can anyone provide a link or info on Buffalo Gold final mintages for 2006 Proof and BU? What about 2007 mintages as of right now? Having a terrible time finding it on the Web. Appreciate your help!!

Also, prices on the graded uncircs. have never really been a whole lot over spot. A good gold investment!

So how long before the mint takes this item off the website for repricing? The Eagle was at $789 and the Buffalo is $825 so it won't be long. With the 38k mintage this maybe the KEY of the series unless gold goes crazy and then all your keys in silver, platinum, and gold maybe out the window due to lack of buying because of price and ecomonic conditions.

As far as I'm concerned I'd rater own one of these than the old hags series that may never be completed.

didn't they reprice the Buffalo last year?

I belive they did. I just figure any company can't keep their doors open with 10% profit. Of course it's much closer than that with packing, shipping, employees with benfits, the tooling and cost to produce these coins. I really don't need another modern to collect but it looks like a deal for someone wanting in on the gold rush. I believe the price of gold will not only hold but could be twice that price in another 5 years.

I like the way the mintage look so far on this years coins.
  • Thanks for the info!! Any mintage numbers on the 2007 BU's yet?? If you were buying for investment would you go with Proof or BU? Doesn't seem like the proof is bringing much of a premium over BU.

Gold Buffalo proofs lag uncs. so far in 2007

I notice that the 2007 uncirculated version presently has a higher mintage than the proof.

While that’s normal for American Eagles, where proofs are rather tightly limited, it seems a reversal of the natural collecting order for the Buffalo gold. Collectors tend to prefer proofs, as evidenced by the sales numbers of commemorative coins in the box above.

By the way, some of the gold 2007-W unc. Eagle numbers went up and down this week, even though the sales freeze was still in effect.

2007 unc. sets go on sale Oct. 9; no word yet when 2006 sets go off sale.

Intersting the Mint dropped the price of the 2007 gold Eagle Proof to $789.95 after they had raised it in May due to the increse in gold prices last May. While they increased the price of the 2007 Proof Buffalo to $825.95 from $800 last year. The maximum mintage of 200,000 ensures the Proof Buffalo will be a smaller mintage than the 2006 coin, of which they sold 100,000 in the first 10 days! If gold climes upwards of $750 in the next week, won't be long before they pull it as well.
