Our old friend with the fake clips is back on eBay

I didn't take the time to go back and find the threads, but this guy has been selling home-made modern clips under several different usernames since early this year. His first few accounts had names vaguely resembling valid TPGs, I think "ncgcoin" was one. On many of his earlier attempts the radius of curvature of the clips would not match the diameter of the coin, it looks like this time he's limited himself to quarters and nickels and to the untrained eye they are quite a bit more deceptive.

I know it's the same guy in part because his photographs were usually taken with the error coin placed on top of a 2x2 with a different coin inside, as though his scam was so unsuccessful he can't even afford to buy a new 2x2 for each coin. He is noteworthy also because in his original incarnation, his feedback included a positive for the purchase of several metal finishing Dremel toolbits.

The Wisconsin looks like he ground down the rim opposite one of the fake clips to try to imitate the Blakesley effect.
Note also the Connecticut with the "missing clad layer."

Thanks for the heads-up, Sean...the sad thing is, the fakes are selling! Maybe he'll try peddling them at the next Austin show- he lives in Temple, which is about an hour from here...
