That's interesting. I never realized there were Liberties with an obverse mintmark. I mean, I knew the mintmark was over the date for the Classic Head type, but it never dawned on me until now that the first Liberties had it, too.

The coins are absolutely beautiful and I am certain that each of us has a favorite or two, but that 1839-D is simply amazing!
