I think that commoncents05's guess of VF-35 is a good one. Hard to tell from the pics. Any luster?
Regarding the lump above the eagle's head, I don't think that it should be there. Is there any evidence of an impact on the obverse above the date or in the lower curls? The variety is BD-2, which is the scarcest of the two known varieties and considered an R.4.
